PLAYER ASSESSMENT INFO.

Mary Espiritu

We are still accepting enrollment for the upcoming 2018 season and, for players enrolled to play in our competitive Divisions (ages 8 -12 and 7 year olds who have requested to play in AA), it is PLAYER ASSESSMENT TIME! This season, player assessments are scheduled for Saturday, January 13th and Saturday, January 20th. We will only have assessments on January 27th if one of the preceding dates are cancelled due to weather. We STRONGLY encourage you to attend the first assessment date as weather is unpredictable this time of year. Do not rely on a 3rd assessment date!

Assessment Location: Morse Park - 5540 Bellaterra Drive, Elk Grove (Fields are on the south end of the park.  Wolfpack Field is the northeast field and Wildcat Field is the southwest field.

IMPORTANT: Your player's baseball age is determined by their age on April 30, 2018.  They must go through the assessment with their correct "baseball" age group.  Example - If your child is 9 now but turns 10 on April 5, 2018, they are baseball 10 and should go through the assessments with the 10 year olds!  If you have questions regarding this please ask us now, so your child does not miss their correct assessment time.

Additional Information:

Please note, players need to only attend ONE Assessment.  Coaches attend both assessment days, but the children of coaches DO NOT go through the assessment process.  You will be notified of any change in the schedule, including a rain out.

As noted above, 7 year olds who have registered for our competitive divisions to play in AA will go through the assessment process at the beginning of the day (8:30 am). Please note that there are no guarantees that 7 year olds who go through the assessment will end up playing in AA, but we will make every effort to accommodate the request, space permitting.

Please check in at the registration desk 30 mins. prior to your child’s assessment time. If you need to turn in a birth certificate, please bring us a COPY - we cannot take originals.  The check in desk is just outside the snack bar on the main concourse at Morse Park.

What Players Should Bring:

Players should bring a baseball glove and hat to the assessment. If players have a bat and/or helmet, they should bring those too.  It is highly encouraged that your player be dressed in baseball attire as they will be put through several baseball related drills.  We have bats and helmets for those kids that do not bring one to the assessment.

Questions?

If you have any questions about the assessment process, please contact our Player Agent, Sean Timmons, at seant@lagunayouthbaseball.com.
