REGISTRATION FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the cost of registration?
$140 for Rookies and Single A Divisions
$170 for AA, AAA, Minor and Major Divisions
What do registration costs cover?
The cost for registration covers your player’s officially licensed MLB jersey, hat, pants, socks, memory mate photo and team photo (additional photos available for purchase), umpire fees, field maintenance and rental, team equipment, baseballs, league charter and insurance, etc.
What information do I need to have ready when registering my child?
Please have a utility bill (SMUD, PG&E, WATER, GARBAGE ETC) that will verify your address. Please also have your child’s medical insurance information and physician contact information.
What do I need to purchase in addition to registration fees?
It is recommended that your player have a baseball glove, cleats (non-metal) and a belt that matches their team colors. Coaches are provided with bats, batting helmets and catchers gear prior to practices beginning, however some parents choose to purchase their own bat and batting helmet for their child. If purchasing a bat, please make sure it is a USA bat that meets Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth bat rules. Please label all of your players personal equipment with their name.
What is the league’s registration refund policy?
FULL REFUNDS will be administered for all divisions (including Rookie and Single A, which do not participate in drafts) if a request is submitted PRIOR to player drafts occurring.
PARTIAL REFUNDS: A $25 administrative fee will be deducted from your refund if a request is submitted ON or AFTER player drafts but prior to opening day.
NO REFUNDS will be administered after league-wide opening day.
When are player assessments held?
Assessments are typically held in the middle of January (please check the league calendar for updated and current dates). Your player only needs to attend only one assessment date. It is recommended they attend the first assessment date as weather is unpredictable during this time of year and there may not be subsequent assessments.
When will I know what team my player has been assigned or drafted to?
The upper division (AA, AAA, Minor & Major) draft is typically held late January/early February. Your coach should reach out to you via phone call or email the Sunday after the draft takes place. For lower division (Rookie and Single A) your coach should reach out to you the Sunday after the lower division coaches meeting.
How long is the season?
Practices begin mid February. Opening Day is usually beginning of March and the season concludes middle of May. Upper Divisions (AA, AAA, Minor and Major) will compete in a Tournament of Champions at the end of the season.
How many practices and games are there on a weekly basis?
Prior to opening day there will be 2 practices per week that can last 1-2 hours per practice. After opening day, there will be 1 practice and 2 games per week.
What time do games start on weeknights?
Games typically begin at either 5:15 pm or 5:30 pm on weeknights. Coaches will typically ask players to arrive for warm-ups and game prep 30 minutes to an hour before game time.
How can I help?
Our league is run 100% by volunteers! We can always use your help! We need team volunteers such as scorekeepers, parent volunteers to help prepare fields for games and practices, team parents, coaches, assistant coaches, snack bar volunteers, events committees and general and executive board members as well as corporate and family sponsors. You do not need experience to coach or assistant coach. No volunteer opportunity is too big or small! If you would like to help, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or if you are interested in a corporate sponsorship opportunity please email email@example.com
